Radio and Walkie Talkie Hire.

We have a growing range of walkie talkies available for short and long term hire to suit different budgets and needs. Our rates are very reasonable. The radios we supply have been chosen to offer good value but also good performance.

Our Motorola digital handhelds are rugged, waterproof and particularly immune to interference. This helps ensure good range and clear communications. Our Ofcom licence covers the frequencies in the radios you hire from us keeping you legal. We can also provide earpieces,headsets and extra batteries if needed.
Our radios are normally supplied in sets of 6 with each set coming with a 6 way charger. However other quantities are available on request.

We can advise on whether you need UHF or VHF radios. For most applications UHF is preferred, however for long range outdoor communications VHF may be preferable. We even have a fleet of Low Band VHF radios particularly good for cross country applications.

MOTOROLA OPTION: Rugged, professional radios.

We recommend our Motorola digital handhelds for most applications as these radios have a better receiver than many of the lower cost Chinese made radios. This can help reduce interference problems and increase the range compared to other lesser radios. These are rugged, professional, digital radios that are waterproof and built for outdoor use. They feature Motorola’s enhanced encryption as standard with an option for ultra secure AES encryption making your communications secure, ideal for security, film and TV production, medical or other communications where privacy is important. Although the range of any radio depends on the location, buildings, trees etc we suggest that this type of radio is suitable for applications where a radio to radio range of up to 2 miles is required. If you need to cover a larger area a repeater can be added (see below).

Our hire rates are very competitive. The rate for a single Motorola digital radio starts at £7 per week. To hire a set of 6 Motorola handheld digital walkie talkies our rates start at £40 for up to 1 week, £80 for 2 weeks and £154 per month (prices show exclude VAT). Handheld microphones, earpieces, additional batteries are available at additional cost. For charities, voluntary and non-profit groups we can offer special discounted rates. Our radios are normally supplied with between 12 and 16 channels but we can also offer customised programming to suit your needs. Please get in touch.

REPEATERS AND BASE STATIONS:

For events that take place over larger areas you may need a repeater or base station. We recommend that you contact us to discuss your needs as a repeater may need professional planning and installation. We are here to help, so do get in touch.
But to give an idea of the costs, a two channel Motorola digital repeater with costs £75 per week to hire, £275 per month. A digital repeater will give you 2 independent channels that can be used at the same time compared to the 1 channel available on an analog repeater. With digital radios it is possible to have several independent user groups on each channel however a single channel can only accommodate one conversation at a time.
For smaller events we can also offer state of the art SFR (single frequency) repeaters. These digital repeaters only have a single channel but installation and setup is generally easier and simpler that with a conventional repeater. To hire an SFR repeater the cost is £75 per week, £275 per month.

In most cases a repeater will need to be installed at a suitable location with mains electricity and an external antenna and we recommend the installation is done by ourselves, although the SFR repeaters can be setup by most people. We can also provide generator or solar powered systems with antenna masts where necessary.
